Going back through old photos I’ve been sent via WhatsApp and found this one. Seriously so much joy in one photo its too much to handle!
I think we often forget as adults to step back and enjoy things. We live in a world where we are never quite happy enough, always looking for the next thing that will be better then what we last had. We forget what is important and what matters to us. Be it being thankful for the friends and family who surround us with love, a colleague saying thank you with a hug and a smile or simply getting an Elsa doll for your fourth birthday.
I know we can’t go back in time to that age of innocence where everything is exciting and special and we take no heed of cost of an object or experience, but perhaps we can spend a day each week or month just appreciating things for what they are. Life shouldn’t be about how much your shoes cost or how much you are being paid to do a job. Its about stepping back, taking stock of what you have here and now and saying “I’m a lucky lucky bastard!’
Cause at the end of the day as they say;
Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realise they were the big things.
